Pelagia Scientific provides scientific consulting and research support, academic editing and writing support, and academic coaching and mentorship for the life and environmental sciences.
The scope, deliverables, timelines, and fees for each engagement will be established in the applicable quote or service agreement. Submitting an inquiry or requesting a quote does not, in itself, create an obligation for Pelagia Scientific to undertake a project.
Website descriptions provide general information and do not guarantee that a particular service, outcome or timeline will be available.
3. Quotes, Fees and Payment
Fees, payment schedules, applicable taxes and any additional charges will be communicated in the relevant quote or service agreement. Work will proceed according to the agreed scope and payment terms.
Any changes to the agreed scope, additional work, delays in receiving required materials, or rush requests may affect fees and the timeline. Any changes will be discussed with the client.
4. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Project Changes
Cancellation, rescheduling, withdrawal, and refund terms will be stated in the applicable quote or service agreement. Fees for work already completed or expenses already incurred may apply where permitted by law and as agreed in the relevant terms.
Clients should contact Pelagia Scientific as soon as possible if their requirements, availability, or project scope changes.
5. Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information, supplying the materials required for their project, confirming that they have the right to share those materials, and reviewing deliverables to ensure they are suitable for their intended use.
Clients remain responsible for decisions made based on scientific advice or research outputs, and for complying with applicable institutional, regulatory, professional, and academic requirements.
Clients must not request services that involve plagiarism, fabrication, falsification of research, misrepresentation of authorship, or other unethical conduct.
6. Intellectual Property and Use of Deliverables
Clients retain ownership of their original materials, subject to any third-party rights. Ownership and permitted use of project deliverables, including edited documents, reports, analyses, presentations, and other work products, will be determined by the applicable quote or service agreement.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, website content, branding, graphics, and other website content may not be copied, reproduced, or used without permission.
7. Scientific Integrity and Professional Boundaries
Pelagia Scientific is committed to scientific accuracy, research integrity, and responsible academic support.
Pelagia Scientific provides research support, scientific advice, editing, and academic mentorship. These services are intended to support clients’ work while upholding scientific accuracy, research integrity, and appropriate authorship.
We do not undertake work involving fabricated or falsified research, plagiarism, misrepresentation of research findings or authorship, or other academic misconduct. We do not complete academic work on a client’s behalf in a way that violates applicable academic integrity requirements. Clients remain responsible for their research, interpretations, submissions, and compliance with their institution’s or publisher’s requirements.
